The journey to the National Park looks at theĀ history of rapid urbanisation, concerns over the loss of open spaces and access to the countryside which led to a sequence of events and social movements in the 19th century. By the mid-20th century, the South Downs region was among the first twelve proposed National Parks. So, what happened? Join Dr Mead as we delve into the background of National Parks’ creation, with a specific focus on the South Downs.
The talk will take place in our historical Pump Barn, with access to confectionary and hot drinks.
Ensure you book early to avoid disappointment
